Movement Only Portion
Demonstrate your marching ability by performing a box 8 drill (forward, backward, and side-to-side). Be sure to include both forward slides and backward slides. You may demonstrate simple horn moves in this performance though it is not mandatory.
Playing and Movement Portion
While playing long tones and lip slurs, demonstrate your marching ability by performing a box 8 drill (forward, backward, and side-to-side). Be sure to include both forward slides and backward slides.
While playing a selection of your choice, choreograph a 30-60-second routine that combines playing, moving, and emotional interpretation of the music (at least 120 beats per minute). You may use a pre-recorded percussive beat that sustains throughout the performance though it is not mandatory.
Include any special movement skills or abilities you possess.
